A Mish Mash of Life Lately

Life has been beyond crazy! My 2 girls are the loves of my life, but they're also a handful! I'm busy.... but a happy and fulfilled busy.

These pictures of my 2 beauties are from July. Photos were taken by my sister in law, Rachel. Aren't my girls just precious?!?!

Life in our new home is still crazy. I never could have guessed just how crazy it would be to get settled in a house that we are also fully renovating. And to do it with 2 little ones underfoot, it has simply been near to impossible to truly get everything done we have wanted to so far. I have a feeling our home will be a work in progress for a few years to come ;)

One thing that has been helping me not get too overwhelmed is the fact that I have my speakers set up in my kitchen now which makes it all the more important to press the reset button and stay in perspective! And having more time with my husband has been so refreshing and precious.

Fall seems to be just around the corner with crisper air, cooler nights and even some changing leaves. I love our famous falls in Vermont so I am looking forward to some bright color gracing the Green Mountains :)

And of course, fall fashion is always fun! I love warm sweaters, scarves, flats, boots, cardigans and cute hats!

Is it weird that I actually miss the back to school feeling from fall? I honestly do! I miss the sharpened pencils and the notebooks and new textbooks crisp and ready to be cracked! I was home schooled my whole life and I always looked forward to school. A lot of my schooling was pretty independent as I got older, and honestly I loved the challenge of pacing myself and working through my tasks as they came. I plan on homeschooling my kiddos when that time comes, so maybe I need to channel the whole missing back to school feeling so that I have motivation in 3-4 years when it's time to start school with the girls :) :)

Well, there's a quick update from my little corner! Lots of love to everyone!

Claire, I didn't know you were homeschooled! I'm homeschooling Zach, at least through 5th grade, and then he gets to decide if he wants to go to public school or keep with the homeschooling. I'd love to pick your brain sometime! -Tori

Glad you're slowly getting settled. I can't imagine having 2 little ones w/full blown renovations going on. I can understand the headache you're having today. :)

Love the pictures of the girls, and those hills look beautiful. Never been to Vermont, but seen plenty of pictures so I'm sure you're looking forward to fall.

I am just so I can wear the boots and sweaters and sip my coffee next to my fire. Love that!

Oh yeah .. totally channel your love for fall and the beginning of school into your girls :) My mom came to visit this morning so she could be part of our little preschool, and she was seriously giddy over it. Oh the memories. My dad and her keep laughing that "Melissa finally gets to be a teacher!!" I can't help it .. I just love it! It's the best time of year!

Your girls are adorable, as always, and I'm glad you're still settling in and enjoying your new home!

I don't even know how you're doing it all. We renovated our house before having Giada, and I about lost my mind. I can't even imagine adding a couple of little ones into it.
Your girlies are adorable by the way.

Wow! You're far more...adventurous that I am, trying to renovate a house with two little ones always around. You'll have to share your tips with us :)

Also, I LOVE the Ginny Owens song that you quote in your header. SO good!
