Catch Up and an Award!

I am well aware that I was in dire need of a new blog post. My days have been curiously packed (do I sound like a broken record? I feel like I've been saying that a lot lately). Maybe it's because I really am busy, or maybe it's because my time-management skills are lagging.... but either way I haven't had much time to sit down and pour my heart out.

I am so excited to report that we have purchased our tickets to South Africa! Ladies, this is SUCH a huge step for us and I'm shaking as I type this to you, because I can't believe that this is all truly coming together! On May 30th, we will be boarding a plane and making all those dreams and plans a firm, concrete reality! (P.S. If any of you are new here, and don't know our story, check out our website!) It's exciting, scary and overwhelming! There is so much to do and, as you can imagine, preparation has all but completely consumed our time lately! There are visas to procure, apartments to investigate, last minute loose ends to tie, and of course, goodbyes to be said.

Peyton is doing wonderfully! She is crawling now, which is such an exciting development! I love that she can follow me around! She has such a fire and spunk and it's so exciting to see her slowly but surely learning how to express her unique personality. She is now eating all sorts of new foods and I love her reactions to all the different flavors and textures :) Motherhood still never ceases to amaze me.

Although my reading of Captivating has been placed on the back burner for now, the journey of self re-discovery has not. I'm still learning more about myself everyday as I prepare to go on the mission field and finally do the thing that has stirred the passions of my heart since I was a little girl.  I promise I'll get back to reviewing Captivating with you when I get time again :)

I just wanted to catch up with you girls! I'm sorry this is so scatter-brained... I wrote this post over the course of a couple hours between doing all the other things I have to do today! After this, I'm headed to catch up with all of your blogs!

OOOOO! But first!!! I almost forgot! Sweet Brittany Ciara over at Not Your Average Teen Awarded me with a beautiful Award! Thank you so much sweetheart! If you haven't checked out her blog already, head on over! She is such a beautiful young woman who has inspired me and shocked me with her maturity and pure heart! Check her out!

Okay, this is how this award works!
  • Put the logo on your blog or within your post.
  • Pass the word to 12 fellow bloggers.
  • Link the nominees within your post.
  • Share the love and link the person from whom you received this award.
I have to admit that I am going to be SUCH  a party pooper... I don't have time to link this up to 12 other bloggers, so I'm just going to award this to one brand new blogger who I just discovered today!  She is new to the blogging world, so head on over and welcome her :)

Her name is Cath and she's over here at the Here 'N' Now! Enjoy your award Cath, and welcome to Blogger!

You are too sweet, Claire. Congrats on getting the tickets to Africa. I have never thought much about missionaries until I found your blog and started researching. I was amazed! God has really used you to touch my life about such a delicate and amazing group of people called missionaries. Each Sunday night, my church introduces a missionaries group to our church family, I want to talk my Pastor about featuring your family and the great things you are doing to share the grace of God. You have been added to my prayer list. May God bless you now and forever!
