Bathtime!

Peyton loves bathtime. Well, sort of. She loves being immersed in the tub; loves having the warm water poured over her body; loves having her head scrubbed with shampoo.... but she HATES being naked. The moment we undress her for her bath, she's screaming bloody murder. Thankfully that only lasts seconds, because the moment her little toots is swimming in that warm bathwater, she's a happy camper.

On the subject of bathtime, I absolutely LOVE my Thymes Sweetleaf Baby fragrance in Baby Wash & Shampoo, and Baby Lotion. Peyton emerges from bathtime a sweet smelling, soft skinned bundle of joy (and cleanliness!)
She's loving this bathrobe that she's wearing (and so am I!) Grandpa Vander Kraats got it for her. Isn't she adorable??? Yup. She's perfect.

Two Weeks Old!

I can hardly believe that my darling baby girl is two weeks old already! I know that doesn't sound very old, but to me it sounds ancient. I can remember gazing at her in the hospital when she was only minutes old!

We are settling into our routine together. It's taking time, but God is giving grace for each moment. I love my baby so much, and Bryan and I are soaking up our family time with her. We have so many special moments as a family! I love this "new life" of being 3!

We have her 2 week appointment tomorrow, and we'll find out what she weighs. I think I neglected to mention in my last post that there was some concern with her weight. After being born at 6lbs 6oz, she dropped down to 5lbs 8oz. I can tell just by looking at her that she has put on weight, but we'll know tomorrow just how much. I'm really blessed that we found a great pediatrician who came highly recommended! He's a Christian and really supports missions. It's refreshing to find a doctor who doesn't tell you you're crazy that you're going to be raising your child in Africa. (Not like we're headed to the far reaches or anything, we're going to Cape Town, South Africa for crying out loud... we're hardly talking huts and witchdoctors!) Anyway...

Well, I just wanted to let you see how my baby girl looks 2 weeks later... Isn't she beautiful?

Announcing the Arrival of Peyton Spring Flores!

Well, Ladies and Gentlemen... she's finally here! (Actually, she's been here for a week and a half already, I just haven't taken the time to write about it on blogger... let's just say I've been too busy loving on my little girl!)

Peyton arrived on Friday, May 29th at 12:44 pm. The labor wasn't too bad (I say that now, but if you'd asked me then I'm sure I would have said otherwise...) I only labored for 4 hours and 44 minutes! She was born at 6lbs 6oz and 20 inches long...

Here are some pictures:

I'll write more later about the whole experience. I just wanted to make sure you all got to see some photos of my beautiful baby girl! We are settling into our routine now, and getting used to lack of sleep, frequent feedings, smiles, giggles, and burps!!! I couldn't have imagined a greater blessing. Peyton is a miracle!
